Being murdered and waking up as a blood-thirsty monster—became her living nightmare.
Torn away form a life that had just begun, Sorcha returns to New Orleans as a newborn vampire, forced to start over in a cutthroat underworld of devilry and decadence. Complicated politics, bitter rivals and jealous ancestors stand between her and the promises she’s still determined to keep.
In a realm where the boundary between good and evil is as murky as the Mississippi River and immortal does not mean invincible, will Sorcha ever risk her shattered heart and love again? Can the magical harmony of the Crescent City give her enough courage to fulfill her eternal destiny?

Interview

Hi, I’m Anne Marie and I want to thank Lovely Paranormal Books for hosting the
Monsters & Angels blog tour!

What is your favourite spot to write?

During the winter, I enjoy writing in front of a crackling fireplace with a glass of red wine. My favorite summer spot is on the back deck of our boat, early in the morning with a cup of coffee.

What did you like to do as a child?
I was in love with horses as a kid and I was lucky enough to have my own horse, Gypsy, as a best friend. I also loved to sing and was a member of several choirs, chorales and musical casts. I haven’t sung in front of anyone in years...not sure why?

Has writing always been your dream, or have you had other dreams?
I vaguely remember wanting to be a rock star, or to attend Georgetown University. I think I watched St. Elmo’s Fire too many times.

How do you get through tough times?
On a life level, I almost feel unqualified to answer this question. I’ve witnessed the difficult times endured by many others, and I know I’m blessed. On an author level, I have incredible and unconditional support from my husband Scott and our two cats, Tempe and Duncan.

Would you rather stay at home or go out?
In the summer, I want to go out and dance. In the winter, if I’m not working, I won’t leave the house for days...but I still dance.

Introvert or extrovert?
I may seem shy and quiet to those I’ve just met and I do cherish my alone time, yet I’m energized by people. I might complain about how much I hate crowds however, I’ve never felt more alive than when I was in the “center of the universe”. Yankee Stadium, Game 7, 2003, World Series Game 6, 2009, French Quarter Fest 2016... So, let’s say I’m a closet extrovert.

Do you believe in astrology, why or why not?
I’m not actually sure. I’ve always wanted to explore astrology further. I know I’m a Leo and most of the traits of the sign apply to me. I love the theater, I can be very stubborn and I’m a fan of bright colors.

Are you superstitious, and if so, what superstitions do you believe in?
Oh no, superstitions are silly...right until they aren’t. Don’t ever say “no-hitter or perfect game” when a pitcher is throwing one. Just speaking the word “quiet” during a shift at the hospital will cause all hell to break loose. People really do go bonkers during a full moon.

Day or night?
Night, absolutely. There is no feeling more powerful than being wide awake and in-control while everyone else is in dreamland.

Reading or writing?
Writing when I want to build an escape. Reading when I need one.

Author Bio: Anne Marie has been an equestrienne, chorale singer, candy-striper, EMT, and baseball fan. Roaming the back roads of New Jersey with her family, she found great respect for antiques, historical locations and the stories they hold. Her current list of favorite pastimes include coffee, bourbon, and Les Miserables--which requires more bourbon. She has been known to attend sporting events just for the flyover. The boat she and her husband christened Glory Days, is her escape from the chaos of everyday life.
The inspiration for Anne Marie's debut novel, Monsters & Angels, is her fascination with vampires and her passion for everything New Orleans. When she isn't writing, she can be found working nights with the critical care team in a busy trauma center.
