Disclaimer: This post contains spoilers from Thirteen Reasons Why the book and tv show. Sensitive topics are covered in this post, read on with care.

We've all heard it, haven't we? The talk about Thirteen Reasons Why, why you should or shouldn't watch the tv show, or read the book. This conversation has escalated since the tv show came out, especially about the graphic depictions of suicide and rape, as well as glorification of suicide.

I believe this conversation has only grown larger after a Peruvian man committed suicide following the style of 13 Reasons Why. Many have expressed a concern that the tv show in particular has many dark themes which inspire suicide. There are no right or wrong view points about this show, but I believe there is nothing wrong about the show.

Many tv shows have graphic scenes, including Game of Thrones, The 100, and many more. Although these shows do not cover suicide they have high levels of violence. I am not arguing against those who do not support Thirteen Reasons Why, simply, stating that those who make this argument shouldn't just focus on 13RW and compare some other tv shows too.

In my opinion, the book Thirteen Reasons Why has received nowhere near as much controversy. It's been out for a lot longer and hasn't really been noticed. This shows that visual arts have a much larger impact on our world. I know many people, both in real life and online who disapprove of 13RW and hate on people who say "it's educational" due to the copycat suicides that occur.

I don't really have anything else to say, but how about you? What are your thoughts on this?
